Sr. Software Developer (Data Warehouse)
KSN Technologies, Inc. in Chesterton, IN is seeking experienced Sr. Software Developers (Data Warehouse) to provide thought leadership around data warehouse design and development by leveraging past experience and current data warehouse industry trends. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of Computer Science and Engineering concepts and principles to perform the following job duties:
- Perform Data analysis/profiling and reverse engineering of large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets. Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical database and data warehouse architectures. Ensure project adheres to client's data and database standards and policies. Responsible for database and data warehouse design and development for enterprise initiatives, large projects, and high impact / high cost projects. Design data warehousing solutions that can take large volumes of structured and unstructured data and rapidly generate meaningful reports and/or support ongoing analytical needs. Responsible for Source system analysis, Design and development of ETL, Technical Documentation, source to target data reconciliation, data issues analysis and fix, jobs scheduling, job failures root cause analysis and fix, performance tuning of Data Warehouse and ETL data load. Define, develop, and implement data testing strategies with the business and IT QA. Analyze and fix data integration issues, duplicate data and unclean data including both internal and external data sources. Provide extensive technical, strategic advice and guidance to senior managers and technical resources in the creation and implementation of new data standards and databases or changes to existing ones. Collaborate with other developers, system architects and/or client IT teams to establish and implement strategic initiatives. Make recommendations and assess proposals for database optimization. Identify operational issues and recommend and implement strategies to resolve problems. Responsible for design and development of data mining, data migration, data integration, data warehousing, business intelligence and Big Data Analytics solutions. May perform other duties, as assigned.
This position does not supervise the work of other personnel, and does not perform any project management.
As assigned, perform other duties normal to the occupation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field of study, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) providing the required skills and abilities. In lieu of the above-stated education and experience requirements, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field of study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible and related experience in any position(s) providing the required skills and abilities.
Qualified applicants must have demonstrable knowledge, proficiency and experience with the following:
- Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, Teradata and Big Data.
- Data Modeling using Erwin and ER Studio.
- ETL using Informatica and SSIS.
- Reporting using Business Objects, OBIEE, SSRS and Qlikview.
- Analytics using Hyperion.
- Scheduling using Control-M, Autosys and Tidal.
- Programming languages: C, C++, Java, Unix, PL/SQL.
Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic requirements, experience and ability to perform job duties.

- No travel or telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of the project.
